JOB DESCRIPTION:

TITLE: Corporate controller

ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT: Crevier Group, Finance Department

LOCATION: Ville Saint-Laurent

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

He reports directly to the Vice President of Finance and analyzes and works closely with managers to provide the financial information necessary for their decision-making.

JOB SUMMARY:

The controller is responsible for producing financial statements and managing controls for multiple companies. He provides leadership, development, and motivation to his teams so they can achieve the highest levels of performance.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produces monthly and annual consolidated financial statements (income statements, balance sheet, and cash flow statements) prepared in accordance with accounting standards within the required timeframe

  • Performs general accounting and oversees the reconciliation of the various balance sheet accounts

  • Documents internal controls, identifies improvement opportunities, and implements them

  • Ensures the updating and application of existing accounting guidelines

  • Ensures the maintenance of the accounting charter and organizational structure in line with the evolution of the company's business model

  • Coordinates and prepares the year-end audit file and liaises with external auditors

  • Supports sales and income tax audit processes and provides requested documents

  • Participates in the integration of new acquisitions

  • Collaborates with the FP&A team in the preparation of annual budget projections and all forecast exercises; Establishes SMART (Specific, Measurable, Agreed, Realistic, and Time-bound) goals and objectives for each team member at the beginning of the year and coaches and supports them throughout the year to ensure they achieve the expected results

  • Performs all other related tasks

SKILLS:

Technical skills:

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS OFFICE, including advanced knowledge of EXCEL

  • Knowledge of various ERP systems such as SAP (an asset)

  • Coaching skills

  • Ability to coach and develop a team

  • Sense of initiative and results-oriented

  • Attention to detail, rigor, and a pursuit of excellence

  • Strong analytical skills and strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize

  • Available for occasional travel

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in administration and CPA designation

Experiences :               

  • 5-6 years of experience (with minimum 2 in a similar role)

  • 3 years of experience in team management. 

  • Experience in a large accounting firm (an asset).
